NEWS: HALIFAX - Dartmouth - Nova Scotia - Canada:

A Halifax Dartmouth Nova Scotia Seal hunt province man has been arrested for allegedly trying to kill a pregnant woman.

The man is charged with attempted murder after he assaulted his pregnant ex-girlfriend and will spend at least two weeks [ 2 weeks?? ] behind bars.

Jon Rees, made was arraigned in Dartmouth provincial court in relation to a Dec. 21 attack on Ashley Laing and her mother, Heather Moffatt, in their Dartmouth home.

Home invasions are commonplace in the Atlantic Canada Sealing provinces, where an assailant breaks into a home and terrorizes the inhabitants inside.

In Atlantic Canada, especially in nearby Newfoundland, these men even call this type of behavior a local ‘tradition’ and support it, and are ok with it. These acts of violence are accepted and are justified to continue by calling it a local “tradition” called “mumming”, where an individual or gang of individuals in eastern Canada will prowl at night, conceal their identities with makeshift disguises, or masks and other garb and then accost the residents of a home, which is revered in the sealing and fisheries areas. These areas are home to many fishermen, according to Wayne Spinner, NS. These same areas of Canada are home to tiny special interest group of seal killers known as “sealers”, who utilize clubs to attack and beat seals to death.

In the case of this Nova Scotia man, he went the extra step of breaking and entering the home, then committing aggravated assault on a young girl and her unborn child, he brutally attacked her, and her mother, then assaulted responding police. Officers later questioned his logic in the attacks.

The man from the seal hunt province also has a history of prison and was breaching his probation at the time as well.

The man is charged with:

- Attempted Murder
- Breaking and Entering
- Aggravated assault on the girl
- Aggravated assault on her mother
- Two counts of assaulting police
- Breaching probation
- and Breaching a recognizance.

Nova Scotia authorities reported the man will spend an astonishing 2 WEEKS in jail on these charges.
